System Conditions

Electrical systems in East Java province is a part of the system interconnection of Java-Madura-Bali. Served the demands of the energy transfer load from the system interconnect Java-Madura-Bali (Jamali) as the main supplier through SUTET network (500 kV) and SUTT (150 kV and 70 kV), as well as from small / embedded (Wonorejo hydropower -PJB , microhydro power plants and captive) power plants through the Medium Voltage network, own generators (diesel and microhydro Sampean Baru), and rental generators.

Currently electrification ratio of East Java province has reached 71.55% and the ratio of electrified villages of 99.71%. While the waiting list has reached 39,988 PLN demand or at 739.6 MVA.

Balance of Power

Province of DKI Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java, DI. Yogyakarta, East Java, and Bali have been well interconnected on electric power transmission lines 150 kV and 500 kV are known by the name of the Java-Madura-Bali  Interconnection System. Thus, the balance of power throughout the province represented by the balance of power of Java-Madura-Bali interconnection system, where in 2010 and 2011 systems are in good condition, whereas in 2012, 2013 and 2014 the capacity of the system can not meet peak loads that exist so that experiencing deficit.

Additional Electricity Infrastructure Plan

The assumption of population growth in Java Madura, Bali an estimated 1% per year and GDP growth for the same period is projected at 6.1% per year, so assuming the electric energy demand growth is expected to grow at an average of 10.0% per year.

In an effort to meet the needs of electricity in the province of East Java, it has been planned additional electricity infrastructure from the year 2010-2014 as follows:

•        Power plants of 3535 MW (about 660 MW is expected to be operational in 2010).

•        Transmission of electricity 1870 kms (including the Province of Bali).

•        7980 MVA Substation (including Bali Province) ..

•        new renewable energy program (EBT) and network:

o   PLTS 50 WP is spread as much as 29,925 units.

o   Centralized PLTS 15 kW 8 units.

o   PLTMH 500 kW.

o   The 1115 distribution substation units (58.500 kVA).

o   Medium Voltage Network 3710 kms.

o   Low Voltage Network 3370 kms.
