System Conditions

Electricity demand in the province of Bali is currently supplied by the electrical system in Java through a network of 150 kV submarine cable transmission with the capacity of 200 MW and is supplied also by the existing plants in the province of Bali itself, which is diesel / PLTG Pesanggaran, PLTG Gilimanuk, PLTG Pemaron.

Currently electrification ratio of Bali Province has reached 74.98% and the ratio of electrified villages by 100.00%. While the PLN waiting list has reached 33,925 request or at 139.8 MVA.

Balance of Power

Province of DKI Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java, DI. Yogyakarta, East Java, and Bali have been well interconnected on electric power transmission lines 150 kV and 500 kV are known by the name of the Java-Madura-Bali  Interconnection System. Thus, the balance of power throughout the province represented by the balance of power of Java-Madura-Bali interconnection system, where in 2010 and 2011 systems are in good condition, whereas in 2012, 2013 and 2014 the capacity of the system can not meet peak loads that exist so that experiencing deficit.

Additional Electricity Infrastructure Plan

The assumption of population growth in Java Madura, Bali an estimated 1% per year and GDP growth for the same period is projected at 6.1% per year, so assuming the electric energy demand growth is expected to grow at an average of 10.0% per year.

In an effort to meet the needs of electricity in the province of Bali, it has been planned additional electricity infrastructure from the year 2010-2014 as follows:

  • Power plants of 580 MW.
  • Transmission of electric power into the recap of East Java Province.
  • Substation parent included in the recap of East Java Province.
  • new renewable energy program (EBT) and network:
    • PLTS 50 WP is spread as much as 26,750 units.
    • Centralized PLTS 15 kW 6 units.
    • PLTMH 360 kW.
    • PLT wind 960 kW
    • The distribution substation 960 units (54 250 kVA).
    • Medium Voltage Network 2910 kms.
    • Low Voltage Network 2770 kms.
    • The four 1000 kW diesel unit.
