PT. Indonesia Power (Indonesia Power), a subsidiary of PT PLN (Persero), was established in 1995 as PT. Pembangkitan Jawa Bali 1 (PT. PJB-1) and in 2000 changed its name to PT. Indonesia Power, is engaged in generating electricity in Indonesia.

PT. Indonesia Power operates eight generating business units (GBUs), namely, Mrica, Priok, Kamojang, Saguling, Suralaya, Semarang, Perak – Grati, and Bali, and one maintenance services business unit (MSBU) in Jakarta. The company, being the leading power generating company in the country has a total generating capacity of 8,996 MW. It primarily serves the consumers of Java and Bali. Indonesia Power produces power through coal, hydro, geothermal, natural gas, and oil and also operates combined cycle power plants. Indonesia Power operates nearly 127 power plants.

Founded on July 5, 2002, Geo Dipa Energi was joint subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero) and PT PLN (Persero) – two leading state-owned enterprises in energy exploration and generation with proven experience in developing and operating geothermal power plants.  In Februari 2011, the composition of the Company’s shareholders has been changed, where the PT Pertamina’s share was taken over directly by the Government of Indonesia. As a consequence from that corporate action, in December 2011 Geo Dipa Energi has been transforming itself into a new State-Owned Company.
