Semen Baturaja Secures More Power for New Plant

State-controlled cement maker Semen Baturaja has secured 45 megawatts of electricity from state utility firm PLN to power its Baturaja II plant in South Sumatra, which is currently under construction.

The Rp 3.3 trillion ($232.65 million) cement plant would increase the cement maker’s production capacity to 1.85 million tons of cement as it seek to expand its market in Sumatra, Baturaja corporate secretary Zulfikri Subli said in statement released on Thursday.
