Sinar Mas Plans Power Plant to Cut Out PLN in Expansion

Indonesian conglomerate Sinar Mas plans to build a power plant of between 120 megawatts and 180 megawatts in West Java in the next three years to supply electricity for the group’s industrial complexes in the province.

Sinar Mas — whose businesses spans from oil palm plantations to property development — has tasked its industrial complex developer subsidiary Puradelta Lestari and Karawang International Industrial City to conduct the study for the project, estimated to cost $180 million, said Sinar Mas Land executive Sanny Iskandar.
