Adaro to Make Bid for Coal-Fired Power Plant in Banten

Coal miner Adaro Energy is participating in a tender to operate a 2×1,000 megawatt coal-fired power plant, called PLTU Jawa 5, in Banten, as part of an effort to diversify its non-coal revenue sources.

We are participating into the PLTU Jawa 5, but we haven’t established a consortium yet,” said Garibaldi Thohir, president director at Adaro Energy.

He said the project was “promising” as it was the same size as the company’s delayed coal fired power plant project in Batang, Central Java.
