Indonesia forms task force to tackle power shortage

The Indonesian government would set up a task force to tackle power shortage and accelerate power plant projects to meet needs of the entire country, said a senior official here Monday.

“The meeting formed a task team tasked to accelerate power plant projects so as to avoid power crisis. The team would be led by energy and mineral resources minister,” said Energy and natural Resources Minister Sudirman Said on the sidelines of a meeting between Vice President Jusuf Kalla and some ministers held in vice president palace.

Sudirman said that the team would mainly be ordered to simplify procedures to build power plants, adding that it would cut the process and documents that are unnecessary for the projects.
