North Sumatra to get additional power supply: Minister

North Sumatra will receive additional power supply worth 210 megawatts from Indonesia Asahan Aluminiums (Inalums) hydropower plants, noted State-Owned Enterprises Minister Rini M. Soemarno.

“The additional supply of electricity will commence in the next two months, and the power consumers in the areas of Medan should not worry about the supply during Christmas and the New Year celebrations,” the minister revealed here on Friday.

Minister Rini stated that the deficit in power supply was one of the key issues that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had been urged to address.

Of the total 210 megawatts of electricity supply, 90 megawatts of the power supplied by Inalums plants is already being distributed to Medan and the remaining will be settled in the near future.
