Indonesia to build hydropower plant to strengthen Sumatra power grid

Indonesia planned to build a hydropower plant with a capacity of 2×28 Mega Watt (MW) in province of Lampung, expecting to strengthen power grid in Sumatra, a senior official at state-run power firm of PLN said here on Friday.

The hydropower plant project would be jointly financed by Japanese and South Korean investors, which is expected to commence operation no later than 2018.
