Indonesia to build 30MW nuclear plant

JAKARTA – Indonesia will build its first nuclear power plant, with a capacity of 30 megawatts, in the western part of Java Island this year, state-run media report Friday.

“This year, a 30 MW nuclear power plant will be built in Serpong, Banten,” Antara news agency quoted Indonesian Research and Technology Minister Gusti Muhammad Hatta as saying, referring to an area of Banten province which borders Jakarta.
