Second-guessing about gas power in Indonesia

Indonesia’s state-owned port operator, Pelindo III, with project partner PT Rekayasa Industri, is forging ahead to build a 2 x 25 MW gas-fired power plant at a cost of $99 million. Scheduled to start-up in May 2014, electricity supplied by the new plant is intended to “help smooth operations” at the Teluk Lamong Multipurpose Terminal in East Java.
