Indonesia to develop wind power generation with UNDP

Indonesia will cooperate with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to develop wind power generation projects, aiming to increase the use of renewable source in power generation and reduce carbon emission in the country, local media reported on Tuesday.

The joint program between Indonesian science and technology research agency of BPPTand UNDP, called Wind Hybrid Power Generation (WHyPGen), is expected to improve electricity production from wind power generation up to 19.27 Giga Watt per year and reduce carbon emission by 17.071 metric tons per year by 2015, the WHyPGen Manager Soeripto Martosaputro said.
