Pertamina Geothermal Work on PLTP Unit 5 Kamojang

KAMOJANG, Garut—Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) is ready to invest some US$90 million for developing Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) Unit 5 in Kamojang District of Garut Regency, West Java, and expected to be in operation by the end of 2014.

PGE President Director Slamet Riyadhi said this power plant investment will be able to generate at least around 30 megawatts (MW) assuming the price per MW is US$3 million.

The CEO admitted that the price was above the earlier fixed cost in Kamojang Unit 4 estimation of US$2.5 million/MW.
