CIREBON – Up to the third quarter of 2012, there is 5% of national electricity generated using geothermal. Meanwhile, electricity coming from coal is 50% of national electricity.
“Nationally, up to the third quarter of 2012, the PLN data shows 50% of national electricity generated from coal and 5% from geothermal,” said the President Director of PLN, Nur Pamudji, who accompanied the Minister of EMR, Jero Wacik in the inauguration of PLTU Cirebon 1 in Cirebon, West Java, Thursday (18/10/2012).
Meanwhile, for Java-Bali areas, 62% of coal and geothermal-fueled power plants donate 6%. Related to national electricity needs, Nur Pamudji stated that 73 % of domestic costumers has been electrified, so there are still more than 12 million household in Indonesia not yet electrified.
