Firm tests wind power system in Indonesia

JAKARTA — Birumen Kagoshima Co., a renewable energy firm based in Kagoshima, has started testing its small wind power generators in Indonesia, company officials said.

Following the trial, the company will begin production of some parts of the system in the Southeast Asian country next March or April, they said.

Birumen Kagoshima is also studying the possibility of setting up a subsidiary in Indonesia that would serve as a manufacturing base for products to be sold in Asia.

The wind power generation system was installed in an industrial park in the Yogyakarta special region on Java Island.
